Precision Plastic
Injection Molding

High-volume and precision low-volume injection molding for regulated and industrial applications. ISO 9001:2015 & AS9100D certified.

Injection Molding Process

Engineering-Grade Production at Any Volume

Comet Tool Company's injection molding operation spans press sizes from 28 to 500+ tons, enabling us to mold components from miniature medical sub-assemblies to large structural enclosures.

Every production cell is monitored with SPC in real time. Every lot is traceable. Every shipment is inspected before it leaves our dock.

  • Press capacity: 28 ton to 500+ ton clamp force
  • Commodity and engineering resin expertise
  • Insert molding and overmolding capabilities
  • Class A surface finish capability
  • Clean-room compatible processing protocols
  • Validated processes for regulated industries

What We Can Produce for You

Engineering Resins

ABS, Nylon, Polycarbonate, PEEK, Ultem, Acetal (POM), PBT, Polysulfone, PPS, and more. We work with your material specification, not around it.

Precision Tolerances

Standard capability to ±0.005″. Critical features to ±0.001″ with validated tooling and process controls in place.

Insert Molding

Metal inserts, threaded fasteners, electrical contacts, and custom inlays encapsulated in one shot for reduced assembly cost and superior pull-out strength.

Overmolding

Multi-material and multi-color parts in a single tool. Soft-touch grips, seals, and functional co-molded assemblies for ergonomic and performance applications.

High-Cavitation Tooling

Up to 64+ cavity tools for high-volume programs. Balanced runner systems, hot runner capability, and fully automated production for maximum output and consistency.

Secondary Operations

In-house ultrasonic welding, pad printing, heat staking, and assembly. We ship finished assemblies, not just molded components.

Design for Manufacturability First

Before we quote, our engineers review your part design for wall thickness uniformity, draft angles, gate location, and sink risk. DFM feedback is included at no charge with every quote — because problems caught early are orders of magnitude cheaper than problems caught in production.

What Our DFM Review Catches

  • Insufficient draft angles causing drag and part damage
  • Wall thickness variations leading to sink and warp
  • Gate location conflicts creating weld lines in structural areas
  • Undercuts requiring unnecessary side actions
  • Parting line placement impacting critical surfaces
  • Resin selection mismatches for environmental requirements
